Formerly Mazagan, this little town of Portuguese origin enjoys a sheltered position at the end of a wide bay. Its beach, encircled by two rocky headlands, lies beneath a perfectly preserved citadel.

Its powerful strongholds and watchtowers turned towards the seo, El Jadida recalls the distant era of halberds and arquebuses, a memory of the time when caravels still sailed across its horizon.

Its neighbour Azemmour is a constellation of little cubical houses with white façades. Dotted with bougainvillea, pomegranate trees and olive trees, its lanes offer the perfect shade for peaceful strolls.
